みなさんは、イースター(Easter)をお祝いしますか？

日本では、海外生まれのイベント、クリスマスやハロウィンなどを楽しむ人が多いと思いますが、イースターも徐々にお祝いをする人が増えてきているのではないでしょうか。

お祝いと言っても、ただイベントとして楽しむ方がきっと多いと思います。

ディズニーランドでは、たまご型のポップコーンバケットや、うさぎやたまごのデザインのグッズが販売されたりしますね。ポップな色が多いので、イースターのグッズは本当にかわいい物が多いです。

イースターとは？

イースターは、日本語で「復活祭」と呼ばれるキリスト教のイベントです。十字架にかけられて死んだイエス・キリストが3日後に奇跡の復活をします。この奇跡をお祝いするお祭りがイースターです。

キリスト教では、クリスマスよりもイースターを大切な日としている人も多く、キリスト教徒にとってとても大切な祝日です。

イースターは固定の日付が無く、毎年日付が変わります。春分の日の後の最初の満月から数えて最初の日曜日と決まっています。キリストが復活したのが日曜日だったので、毎年日曜日であることは間違いないです。

ちなみに2021年は4月4日がイースターの日でした。2022年は4月17日です。毎年変わるので、チェックが必要ですね。

イースターは、ハロウィンなどの他のイベントと同じく、何日も前からかざりつけや準備をして楽しみます。

私も、たまご型の入れ物をかざったり、たまご型やうさぎ型のクッキーを焼いたりします。

イースターエッグ

何よりも楽しみなのが、絵具やパステルカラーのペン、マスキングテープなどを使って、イースターエッグを作ることです。

割れないおもちゃのたまごも売っていますが、私のおすすめは本物のたまごから中身を抜いてたまごの殻だけにし、それにかわいく色を付けることです。

割れないようにかなり気をつけなくてはなりませんが、うまくいくとちょっと感動します　笑。

イースターエッグの作り方

本物のたまごで作ってみたい！　という方のために、作り方を書きます。

用意するもの

・生卵

・針

・つまようじ

作り方

　①針で卵の上下に1つずつ穴をあけます。

②下の穴を少し大きくした方が中身が出やすいので、少しずつグリグリと穴を広げてください。2～3ミリほどに広げれば大丈夫だと思います。

③穴からつまようじを入れて中身をついたり、かきまぜたりしてしっかりつぶしてください。

④卵の上の小さい方の穴に口をつけ、思いっきり卵の中に息を吹き込んでください。下の穴から中身が出てきますので、中身が全て無くなるまで吹いください。

⑤空っぽの卵に穴から水を入れて振り、中を洗ったら、また穴から息を入れて水を出します。何回か繰り返すと中身がきれいに出ます。

➅乾かしたらできあがりです。

慣れるまでは卵が割れてしまい大変と感じるかもしれませんが、できあがった時はかなりうれしいと思います。

ゆで卵に色を付けてイースターエッグにするとすぐに腐ってしまいすが、中身を抜いた卵で作ると、腐ることなく何年もかざることができるので、ぜひチャレンジしてみてください。

イースターゲーム

イースターの祝い方や楽しみ方は色々あると思いますが、子どもたちが楽しみにしているのは、やはりイースターゲームです。

エッグハント

いくつか定番のゲームがありますが、特に子どもたちに人気なのは、「エッグハント」です。

私が毎年行うエッグハントは、たくさんのたまご型のカプセルにチョコレートやキャンディーなどのお菓子を入れて家中にかくし、それを子どもたちが見つけに行きます。

お友達をよんで公園でエッグハントをしたこともあります。木のかげや草むらに隠したり、木につるしたり、子どもたちにとっては最高のゲームですね。

エッグスプーンレース

色々なゲームがありますが、もう一つかなり盛り上がるのは、エッグスプーンレースです。

たまごをスプーンにのせて、ゴールまで運んで行きます。年齢にもよりますがたぶん落とす子が多発するので　笑、生たまごではなく、ゆでたまごやおもちゃのたまごが良いと思います。

人数が多い時は、私はチームを作ってリレー形式で行います。次の人にたまごを渡すときに、手でつかむのではなくスプーンからスプーンに移すのでかなりの確率で落とします。それがまた楽しくて、みんなで大笑いして楽しむことができます。

まだイースターをあまり意識していなかったり、イベントとして何かしたことが無い方たちも、ぜひ一度イースターを行事として楽しんでみてください。

あたたかくなり始めた春の日のお祭りなので、きっと気持ちも明るくなり、楽しめると思います！

My favorite event “Easter”

Do you celebrate Easter?

In Japan, many people enjoy events born overseas, such as Christmas and Halloween. And now more and more people are starting to celebrate Easter as well.

I am sure that there are many people who just enjoy Easter as an event, even though it is a celebration.

At Tokyo Disney Resort, you can find egg-shaped popcorn buckets and other goods with rabbit and egg designs. Since there are many pop colors, many Easter goods are really cute.

What is Easter?

Easter is a Christian event. Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, makes a miraculous resurrection three days later. Easter is a festival to celebrate this miracle.

Many Christians consider Easter to be a more important day than Christmas, and it is a very important holiday for Christians.

Easter has no fixed date, and the date changes every year. It is fixed as the first Sunday counting from the first full moon after the spring equinox. Since Christ’s resurrection was on a Sunday, it is certain to be on a Sunday every year.

By the way, in 2021, Easter Day was April 4; in 2022, it will be April 17. It changes every year, so you need to check.

Easter, like other events such as Halloween, is enjoyed by people who decorate and prepare for it days in advance.

I also decorate egg-shaped containers and bake egg- and rabbit-shaped cookies.

What I enjoy most is making Easter eggs with colors such as paint, pastel pens, and masking tape.

You can buy unbreakable toy eggs, but I recommend removing the contents from a real egg, leaving only the egg shell, and coloring it in a cute way.

You have to be very careful not to break it, but when it works, you will be impressed.

For those of you who want to try it with real eggs, here are the instructions.

What to prepare　

*Raw egg
*Needle
*Toothpick

How to make　

1) Use a needle to make a hole in the top and bottom of each egg.

2) Make the bottom hole a little larger so that the contents can come out more easily. 2-3mm should be enough.

3) Insert a toothpick through the holes and crush the contents by poking and stirring.

4) Put your mouth on the smaller hole at the top of the egg and blow into the egg as hard as you can. The contents will come out through the bottom hole, so blow until all the contents are gone.

5) Fill the empty egg with water through the hole, shake it, wash the inside, and then breathe into the hole again to release the water. Repeat a few times and the contents will come out clean.

6) Let it dry and it is ready to use.

You may find it hard to get used to it because of the eggs breaking, but you will be quite happy when it is done.

If you color boiled eggs to make Easter eggs, they will soon go bad. However, if you make Easter eggs with the eggs removed, they will last for years without going bad.

There are many ways to celebrate and enjoy Easter, but the one that the children look forward to is the Easter game.

There are several standard games, but one that is especially popular with children is “the egg hunt”.

In my annual egg hunt, I fill many egg-shaped capsules with chocolates, candies, and other sweets and hide them around the house for the children to find.

Sometimes we have invited friends over to the park for an egg hunt. Hiding them in the grass or under a tree, or hanging them from a tree, is a great game for children.

There are many games, but another one that is quite exciting is “the egg spoon race”.

Put the egg on the spoon and carry it to the goal. Depending on the age of the child, many children may drop the eggs, so it is better to use boiled eggs or toy eggs instead of raw eggs.

When there are a lot of people, I make teams and do it in relay style. When I pass the egg to the next person, I move it from spoon to spoon instead of grabbing it with my hands, so there is a good chance it will be dropped. This makes it fun and we all have a good laugh and enjoy it.

For those who are not yet aware of Easter or have never done anything about it as an event, please try to enjoy Easter as an event.
